...cloud like a dream

...cloud like a dream ...the breeze slowly pushes you on your cloud and she by drifts on a cloud like a dream and floats through your mind as you watch the day sail by and she smiles and waves on her billowy couch and you smile and your heart begins to race and you suddenly realize her smile is etched into your eyes and your thoughts are surrounded by her image and your heart is branded by her sweet searing smile and you search for the cloud she smiled from and all the clouds look the same and you wish that your cloud could merge with hers and her smile would be with you forever face to face and you frown but her smile you see when you close your eyes makes you smile again and your heart beats faster but aches because her smile has left a scar there and you feel her smile and your heart picks up pace and you wait with longing and hope for her cloud to sail by again with her on her billowy couch and the breeze slowly pushes you on your cloud like a dream... © 2015 ajwrites57 ...

winter of our love

winter of our love and in the winter of our love stroke these weathered hands feel the folds of life in my heart kiss the worry lines on my forehead caress the ancient joints that held our joys and our pains through the journey of our lives and in the winter of our love count the unhurried days of love that marked the moments of our union ease each labored breath through these aged lungs touch the withered memories that remain in my mind grasp the last few days of our love with your wise heart and in the winter of our love sing the songs of our youth the ones that meld with the days of our love enumerate the ways that I have loved you consider the passion we spent with each heartbeat as our time fades, remember the worn path we've traversed in the winter of our love © 2015 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Try more love poems   here.

Christmas voices

Christmas voices Christmas spirits linger, here Quieted voices whisper, clear Forgotten memories rise, like ghosts Holiday gatherings without hosts Sleigh bells tinkle, lonely sound December's wind blows all around Jack Frost sends cold hot ice Frozen tears, sting one, twice Pine trees bare, except for garland Solitary snowfall in winter's garden 'O Tannenbaum' sung by the choir Echoes round, the lonely hour Haunting silence fills my ears Christmas past collects the tears © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long
wet land the plinking, pinging of rain at night redounds the silence of memory's sight the liquid essence of cloud's release mirrors man's tears with no surcease the dripping, plopping in pools of rain gather together like puddles of pain moisture gathers in morning mist the fog of sadness's forlorn kiss dew rests softly in the morning sun brings no relief from midnight's run as water flows toward the sea a river of tears flow from me © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long

your little life

your little life  words you've written on the page explain the deeds you did today descriptions of the life you lead how you love, how you bleed verbs and nouns now crowd the lines pointing to the life's warning signs of where to go and what to do you do the things that make you you phrases phrased reflect your mind show the inner heart defined emotions spilled in little pools joy and tears for friends and fools adjectives that make their mark in the light and in the dark mirror what you wish you had taking all the good with bad  ten thousand words may fill your book with poetic license that you took to make your little life look big will any other give a fig? © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ If you like this poem, try this one:  inhale deep !

another day

another day And yet, another day, falls. As a leaf drops from a branch of a tree, the day falls from the tree, called, life. The day  is no longer green, but brown. All life, taken. The day is spent, no longer free, to enjoy, shining sunlight, beautiful birds, whistling wind, renewing rain. © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤

breath

breath jagged breathing, halting breath count the moments until death no more tubes to feed the life living ends, no more strife heaving, wheezing, in the chest, no more days, death's behest lungs give way, no longer function priest performs extreme unction clock ticks out the minute's time reach toward next world, sublime now, released, see spirit soar soul is gone, to live no more the living stay, to count each day until our bodies all give way © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long Image by:  by Sebastiano Ricci - The Yorck Project: 10.000 Meisterwerke der Malerei. chaotic word

chaotic word And every chaotic word that splits the soul, opens a chasm with abyssal depth. And the word rebounds with abysmal ferocity. And the silence broken by the word, echoes round like a thundering, bison herd. And the echo's felt with colossal ire that rages long, like a funeral pyre. And the fire that's set by the word, blazes and subsumes  a forest of souls. And every soul aflame, through pain, causes rifts which split the celestial plane. And every rift is gaping wide, and reflects the chasm that is ruptured deep. And every word that reverberates down, has created a soul that is doomed to weep. And every tear these souls exude, fills the eternal abyss and drowns every chaotic word. © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long Image by:  "Ancient eter" by Oliver C.Mallorca Creative Commons via Wikimedia Commons

pains

pains pain intrudes like unwanted guest keeps you from your very best pain explodes like liquid fire, searing heat with bubbling ire pain protrudes like metallic splinters, throbbing hands, swollen fingers pain erupts like lava's flames, burning through bulging brain pain pulses like a phantom limb numbing as the lights go dim pain lingers like a spectral ghost draining power from the host pain aches like a clock that ticks dulling, constant, chronic clicks pain remains like a shadow dark, clinging, gnawing at its mark © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long Image:  iProzac via Flickr Creative Commons

and I shall

and I shall and i shall watch as the funeral procession moves slowly and surely to the final resting place of one who has shed his mortal frame and i shall see the faces of mourners who lament the death of one who has passed from this time and i shall count the tears of those who weep for the life now gone from this celestial orb and i shall gaze as men take turns placing earth on the hollow remains of one who has vacated his place among men and i shall ponder the mortality of my existence and i shall yearn for a return to my mother's womb so that i shall live again © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ image:  LMAP via Flickr Creative Commons

A Heart

A Heart A heart. A heart can be red,  be black,  be gray, be blue; heart of my heart You can bend it,  break it,  cut it,  empty it; a heart. You can hurt it,  melt it,  mend it,  touch it, fill it; a heart. You can share it,  sin against it, raise it,  lift it,  hold it;  a heart. A heart can sing,  can dance,  can love,  can sing; a heart. A heart can soar,  can fly,  can float, can feel; a heart. A heart can beat,  can pulse,  can surge,  can explode; a heart. A heart can hope, can care,  can smile, can laugh;  a heart. A heart  can cry,  can shrink, can lament, can worry, a heart. A heart can be strong,  can be weak,  can be weary,  can be foolish; a heart. A heart can be deceitful,  can be alone,...

she sailed through her dreams

she sailed through her dreams she sailed through her dreams as if life was what she lived during beatific sleep she dreamed her life was full of sunshine and fields of flowing, glowing beauty she sailed through her dreams the days were long and filled with smiles and songs of joyful, dervish dancing she sailed through her dreams the nights were filled with shining moonlight and sparkling, spinning stars she sailed through her dreams the paths she walked were filled with friends and peaceful, pensive pleasures she sailed through her dreams the ways she followed were filled with love and romantic, impassioned kisses she sailed through her dreams the plans she made were filled with hope and a grateful, thankful future she sailed through her dreams as if life was what she lived during beatific sleep she lived her life as if her dreams were real © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Image:  By Albert Ritzber...

Autumn Scenes: Autumn demands

Point State Park, Pittsburgh, PA Autumn demands Summer's heat  turns to  Autumn's chill. Summer's fun  turns to  Autumn's thrill. Autumn's  color panoply  on every hill. Autumn demands  hue changes. Summer's colors, Autumn rearranges. Green to yellow,  orange,  gold or red, Rainbow's colors  deftly spread. Autumn's breeze  chills the Night. Summer's warmth's  taken flight. Swirling leaves,  twirling,  fall. Brown,  then gather,  then,  a stormy squall. Autumn demands. © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Image :  "Point State Park in Fall" by John ~ Creative Commons via Wikimedia Commons

in her world now

in her world now she tried to hide her awkwardness and all the other's gawkwardness she tried to glide but only fell she died inside her silent hell her face and hands weren't beautiful like all the other girls at school she never really quite fit in she died inside her silent sin she liked to draw and liked to paint afraid to show others who might taint the worlds she saw upon white and visited them all by night her fingers stained with oils bright colors were her sole delight she made a place inside a wall she hid her worlds away from all she made her music in her heart no one else could be a part she sang inside a blue-made tune in front of the dark's yellow moon her inner would was all she had soon others saw that she was mad but she alone knew the self-made life was the only place she'd be free from strife she disappeared one autumn day when all were on a holiday she went to someplace she had made where a...

Ballad of Me

Ballad of Me  With pen  in hand  (I dislike to type.)  sitting, dazed,  I take a swipe. Ink flows  onto  white-lined pad,  methinks aloud,  "'Tis not too bad!"  Rhyming  like  a super bard,  at times,  a poem  can come  hard. Chained,  to a chair,  I sit  and write,  on and on,  through  day  and  night. Coffee  flows,  like the ink, it helps me  focus, thoughts  to think.  Moonlight shines upon the page, nighttime writing  is the rage. Face  is growing  wan  and pallid from lack of sun, so now it's time I end this ballad.  © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Image by:  Cali4beach via Flickr

Take a Walk With Me

Take a Walk With Me Slip your hand in mine and let us follow the path to where it may lead. Nestle close as we meander down the grassy avenue, here and there. Stroke my fingers, softly, as we take in the sights on our joyful journey. Brush your silken skin against my arm, as you pull close, while we walk. Whisper gently the ways you love me, as we stroll in the summer sun. Let your soft voice lull me, as we saunter, slowly beneath the shady trees. Speak tender words to me as we amble through the lush, verdant vale. Say my name, slowly, as we promenade along the stream as it flows, nearby. Pause with me, to reflect on the treasured moments we share on this blessed path. Reminisce with me, about how we met, how we fell into this love in which we glory. Reflect with me, on the pleasures we partake of each moment we are joined, in gladness. Linger with me longer, on this sweet journey we have chosen to spend forever, together. © 20...
