Summer Scenes: Summer Falls

Summer Falls Summer sheds his thermal coat Sun retreats from beaming heat Day gets shorter by cool minutes Skin fades from summer tan Mind recalls summer's fun Heart beats to summer past Evening sends his cooler breeze Moon lingers longer than before Stars appear in different places Body bids for more clothes Nose sneezes at ragweed Feet feel the need for socks Tree shakes off browning leaves Harvest slows his ripened gifts School bids the children come Fun changes ways to enjoy Summer season sadly departs Autumn paints fall colors anew © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Image:  Michael Gil via Flickr CC

The late Spring rain, reminds of other Springs, recalls love's youth, opens memory's vault, redounds heart's Spring. The late Spring rain, caresses life's length, touches tender spots, presses pleasure's thoughts, pulses heart's heaven. The late Spring rain, returns me to you, recollects your ideal, respire's your essence, rewards oneness with you. © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Image:  By Богдан Тригубец (Собственная робота CC-BY-SA-3.0, via Wikimedia Commons

dear

Red Roses dear The day is setting, down goes the sun. Now is the time, dear, for an evening of fun. Draw the shades, dear, and lower the lights. It's gonna be one of those wild, crazy nights. Light some candles and pour out some wine. Soon, my dear, we'll both feel so fine. Open the fireplace, set a hot fire, Our time tonight, dear, our heart's desire. Fluff up the pillows, dear, get ready to play. Soon we will be having fun, our own funny way. Make sure your toes, dear, are cozy and warm, Smell the sweet roses, get into rare form. It's time to perform the lessons we've learned, Time to get paid, dear, the dues we have earned. Set up all of the pieces, lay them all out, Dear, this game of Monopoly, is what love is all about. © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Image:  By Jaqueline

Nature's awakening

Nature's awakening The Spring sun shone silently. Nature roared to life. Robins and sparrows burst into a  cacophony of chirps and whistles. Tress and grasses greened and grew, crackling, in the woods. Flowers, budded and burst brilliantly; the yellows, the reds, the blues and all the shining, shimmering dew filled buds brimmed, beautifully. And I whistled a morning tune as basked in  Nature's awakening. © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ If you enjoyed this poem, please find more of my writing  here.

Love arrives

Love arrives Love arrives in stunning splendor, like fragrant flowers that you send her. Love arrives with trumpet’s fanfare, like all the words you said and will share. Love appears in surprising fashion, like gilded dreams and fiery passion. Love appears in amazing places, like in your hearts and on your faces. Love emerges in growing stages, like glowing coals to fire rages. Love emerges from silent waiting, like lonely nights anticipating. Love explodes in astounding emotions, like raging waves in pounding oceans. Love explodes in glorious hues, like painter’s palettes, reds and blues. © 2013 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤  Image by:   By snty-tact, CC-BY-SA-2.5, via Wikimedia Commons If you enjoyed this poem, find more  here.

Love Allergy

Love Allergy When Spring-time sends love so dear, sneezes and wheezes, spoil the time of year. When Cupid's love arrow, flings and flies, it sends me itchy, scratchy eyes. When Romance, fills the air, my eyes swell and I shed a tear. When Love Songs begin to play, coughing, coughing comes to stay. When Love Poems sing and rhyme, breaths come slow, breaths out of time. When love triangles abound, I nearly pass out, fall to the ground. When reading love stories that are the rage, my fingers get numb, I can’t turn the page. Love causes these reactions, you see, because I have the dreaded, Love Allergy. © 2013 ajwrites57 A Long Image By kodomut via flickr I have to say this post was inspired by the dear and inspiring +Adrianna Joleigh If you've ever read any of her posts, you will find the wittiest, talented, and sweetest G plussers commenting. The consensus was that it is better to have a Love Allergy than to be immune to love. If y...
