Summer Scenes: Summer Falls

Summer Falls Summer sheds his thermal coat Sun retreats from beaming heat Day gets shorter by cool minutes Skin fades from summer tan Mind recalls summer's fun Heart beats to summer past Evening sends his cooler breeze Moon lingers longer than before Stars appear in different places Body bids for more clothes Nose sneezes at ragweed Feet feel the need for socks Tree shakes off browning leaves Harvest slows his ripened gifts School bids the children come Fun changes ways to enjoy Summer season sadly departs Autumn paints fall colors anew © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Image:  Michael Gil via Flickr CC

Summer Scenes: the breeze

the breeze i am alone. i feel the breeze. after the humid heat of the summer's day,  the cool evening breeze sends me bodily relief, yet, carries an unsettling sense of melancholy. the sun's bright, burning, daytime blaze must always give way to the cool darkness of night, where aloneness weighs heavier on one's silent soul. the weight of the day doubles and trebles with each passing hour, with each star that appears in the sky, with each moonbeam that catches my eye. i see the distant orbs and am reminded of the vast universe. i am small. the tiny specks that are stars sparkle and wink, yet, i am not amused. words sometimes bring comfort but tonight's breeze reminds me that relief is fleeting, for tomorrow's summer sun will give way to yet another summer night. i accept the breeze's soothing consolation from the day's warmth but find no solace in my solitary, summer musings. i feel the breeze. i am alone.  © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Imag...

I love to

I love to I love to run my fingers  through your silky, brown  tresses. I love to touch you  in your soft, white, cotton  sundresses. I love your  hot, humid, tender caresses. I love to place my mouth and  kiss you on your round, ruby lips.  I love to hold you 'round your  swaying, nubile hips. I love to  touch and move my hands on your  smooth, satin skin with my fingertips.  I love to see the sun shine on your  sweet, smilin' face. I love to see  you run with beauty and grace. I love  to feel your body in a full, frontal  embrace. I love to hear the laughter  in your voice. I love it that you made  me your loving choice. I love to  celebrate your heart and rejoice. © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Image by:  Pierre Auguste Cot [Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons

Summer Scenes: Remember

Remember Wind-swept lovers, passion flares, sultry summers, we were there. Balmy evenings, record highs, humidity rising, hearts' surprise. Sun-baked nights, emotion feast,  sweltered heat, love released. Sunset pleasures, ocean side, high-tide rolling, love undenied. Satin sea foam, senses filled, waves of water, we were thrilled.  Season's glory, bright moonlight, sandy beaches, we held tight. Starry heavens, tender touch. cloudless sky, we felt so much. Ocean's echo, seashell sound, flotsam wood-fire, arms around. Seaside music, silk-soft allure, off to dreamland, sleep secure. Low-tide morning, dawn's sweet kiss, dew-filled haze, memory's bliss. © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Image:  By beanworks If you enjoyed this poem find more  here.

Summer Scenes: honeybee

honeybee The honeybee  buzzed. The honeybee buzzed by beautiful bachelor's buttons. The honeybee buzzed behind belligerent,  harassing  wasps. Haranguing wasps buzzed the honeybee. The honeybee buzzed sweetly and swung south to savor the sunflower. The honeybee  buzzed. © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Image by:  https://www.flickr.com/photos/suereynolds/

Summer Scenes: summer night

summer night summer night A soft crescendo builds at dark, crickets, owls and frogs embark. Moon's transcendent path is set, grass's dew is soft and wet. Summer's wind lifts the trees, scent of pine rides on the breeze. Fireflies blink upon their course, silhouette's glow with no remorse. Horns, whistles, boats and trains, in the distance, sound remains. Rain clouds gather, sudden burst, falling raindrops sate earth's thirst. A lonely echo fills the night, lonesome murmurs, at first light. Sparrows chirp at rising sun, grey-red dawn, night is done. © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Image: By rjshiflet .

The sights you see

The sights you see The sights you see all around, in the sky and on the ground. The butterfly flies up to the skies, right before your very eyes. The big bullfrog croaks and hums, sounds like a big, hollow drum. The hoot owl hoots up in the tree, sees as far as his eyes can see. The sights you see all around, in the sky and on the ground. The firefly flickers off and on, leads you hither, leads you yon. The cricket chirps her cheerful tune, beneath the shining, summer moon. The bunny hops and never stops, until he finds some clover tops. The sights you see all around, in the sky and on the ground. The sparrow flits here and there, chirping loud and chirping clear. The groundhog waddles like a duck, thought the mud and through the muck. The dragonfly's wings flap fast and furious, I love to watch him. I'm so curious. The sights you see all around, in the sky and on the ground. © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Image by:  By J....

Last of July

Last of July Last of July, summer slippin’ away. Past the middle of my Life; today feels that way. Tomorrow’s yesterday. More is left behind, than what lies ahead. Losing count of the days. The day is hot, sun setting; cool breeze on the rise. Feel the sting of lost days, burning my eyes. The past has passed, is past. Hope is far away, hope has gone to stay. Last of July, summer slippin’ away. Sun goin’ down, Tomorrow soon today. © 2013 ajwrites57 Image URI:  http://mrg.bz/FiQoBd By  frankybaby If you enjoyed this poem, read my other work on  Hubpages.
