...cloud like a dream

...cloud like a dream ...the breeze slowly pushes you on your cloud and she by drifts on a cloud like a dream and floats through your mind as you watch the day sail by and she smiles and waves on her billowy couch and you smile and your heart begins to race and you suddenly realize her smile is etched into your eyes and your thoughts are surrounded by her image and your heart is branded by her sweet searing smile and you search for the cloud she smiled from and all the clouds look the same and you wish that your cloud could merge with hers and her smile would be with you forever face to face and you frown but her smile you see when you close your eyes makes you smile again and your heart beats faster but aches because her smile has left a scar there and you feel her smile and your heart picks up pace and you wait with longing and hope for her cloud to sail by again with her on her billowy couch and the breeze slowly pushes you on your cloud like a dream... © 2015 ajwrites57 ...

winter of our love

winter of our love and in the winter of our love stroke these weathered hands feel the folds of life in my heart kiss the worry lines on my forehead caress the ancient joints that held our joys and our pains through the journey of our lives and in the winter of our love count the unhurried days of love that marked the moments of our union ease each labored breath through these aged lungs touch the withered memories that remain in my mind grasp the last few days of our love with your wise heart and in the winter of our love sing the songs of our youth the ones that meld with the days of our love enumerate the ways that I have loved you consider the passion we spent with each heartbeat as our time fades, remember the worn path we've traversed in the winter of our love © 2015 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Try more love poems   here.

these say love

these say love a tender touch upon the shoulder, a bed made with unasked grace, a flower placed upon the desk, a card sent just because; these say love an overlooked mistake, an oven baked meal, an understanding smile, an open conversation; these say love a walk in the moonlight, a remembered anniversary, a favorite dessert, holding hands in the car; these say love playing your love song, candles in the bath, following his rules, following her rules; these say love © 2015 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤

she does scrimshaw

she d ❤ es scrimshaw she does scrimshaw on roses, her velvety touch, she does marvelous work maybe a little too much she uses red ones and white ones and pink ones too you'd be amazed at the carving that she can do she engraves love symbols, like hearts and flowers she can do this so long, for hours and hours she started her scroll-work in another place, too lately she carves on my heart, what can i do? my heart trembles and shivers when she sculpts away she's taken to doing this everyday she carefully, softly, carves with her scrimshander's art i can feel the markings when we're apart deftly, her fine tools carve and create i sit still for her artwork, no matter how late she's engraved her name in the center, so deep she said it's forever, it's there for keeps i never objected and i never will her artistry enthralls me her love ever fills © 2015 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ More love poetry  here.

your kiss is so

your kiss is so your kiss is so sweet, just like bee's honey you kiss is so bright, you make grey skies sunny your kiss is so soft, like satin or silk your kiss is so soothing, like warm mother's milk your kiss is so tender, from a heart full of care your kiss is so light, I'm floating on air your kiss is so stirring, I can hardly sit still your kiss is so female, all laces and frill your kiss is so soulful, from deep down inside, your kiss is open, nothing to hide your kiss is so luscious, like a strawberry sundae your kiss is so great, you make every day Fun Day your kiss is so fiery, my heart's all aflame your kiss is so different, never the same © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ Image by:  Kyrre Gjerstad via Flickr creativecommons

Christmas Ready Santa's elves are hardly nappin'. Their tools and toes are wildly tappin'. Somethin' great is gonna happen! Santa's checkin' both his lists. His heart is torn by naughty twists. Someone's gonna get some gifts. Santa's elves are ultra busy. Their workshop's in such a tizzy. Somethin' makes them all quite dizzy! Santa's counted all the toys. His presents set for good girls and boys. Someone's gonna be full of Christmas joys. Santa's elves keep such fast pace. Their arms and legs run like in a race. Somethin's goin' on in this place! Santa's packed his magic sleigh. His reindeer wait for the word "Away'! Someone's ready for Christmas Day! Santa's elves are fully flyin'. Their hearts and minds are truly tryin'. Somethin's comin' on the horizon! Santa's off to do his duty. His s...

Christmas voices

Christmas voices Christmas spirits linger, here Quieted voices whisper, clear Forgotten memories rise, like ghosts Holiday gatherings without hosts Sleigh bells tinkle, lonely sound December's wind blows all around Jack Frost sends cold hot ice Frozen tears, sting one, twice Pine trees bare, except for garland Solitary snowfall in winter's garden 'O Tannenbaum' sung by the choir Echoes round, the lonely hour Haunting silence fills my ears Christmas past collects the tears © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long

Wow!

Wow! Wow! I found my heart again today. (I’d lost it somewhere along the way.) I'd felt no emotions in its place. (No emotions felt, no, not a trace.) I found my heart again today. (Now I sing a song, hooray!) I feel some things I felt before. (I hope some things I feel no more.) I found my heart again today. (I hope its here now to stay.) I found a girl I loved today. (I saw my heart float away.) I felt my heart skip a beat. (I danced a dance with both my feet.) I freed my heart, bound before. (I chained and linked it to pain galore.) I found my heart again today. (I hope my heart is here to stay.) I drifted up right into space. (I feel I’m in a State of Grace.) Wow! I found my heart again today. (I’d lost it somewhere along the way.) © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤
wet land the plinking, pinging of rain at night redounds the silence of memory's sight the liquid essence of cloud's release mirrors man's tears with no surcease the dripping, plopping in pools of rain gather together like puddles of pain moisture gathers in morning mist the fog of sadness's forlorn kiss dew rests softly in the morning sun brings no relief from midnight's run as water flows toward the sea a river of tears flow from me © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long

Rudolph

Rudolph Rudolph enjoys the Winter Sun, Frolics in downy snow for fun. Tries to hide his funny, red nose, Some have even said: "It glows!" Little reindeer romps and plays, chasing snowflakes all the days. Left out of  the Reindeer Games, bullies call dear Rudolph names. Finds his solace in sweet Clarice. They love the snow and winter's peace. Igloos made from snow banks, hidden. They rub their noses. Oh! Fun, forbidden! A glowing nose is hard to hide. Rudolph covers in shameful pride. Nose shines strong in darkest night. the ruddy glow of reindeer's light. Christmas comes; so does a storm. Rudolph's home, safe and warm. Santa remembers reindeer's light, knows it may guide safely tonight. Santa calls for little reindeer's help to lead his team; deliver Christmas wealth. Nine reindeer in front of Santa's sleigh, Rudolph's reined first, to lead the way. Merry Christmas...

your little life

your little life  words you've written on the page explain the deeds you did today descriptions of the life you lead how you love, how you bleed verbs and nouns now crowd the lines pointing to the life's warning signs of where to go and what to do you do the things that make you you phrases phrased reflect your mind show the inner heart defined emotions spilled in little pools joy and tears for friends and fools adjectives that make their mark in the light and in the dark mirror what you wish you had taking all the good with bad  ten thousand words may fill your book with poetic license that you took to make your little life look big will any other give a fig? © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤ If you like this poem, try this one:  inhale deep !

Inhale Deep

Inhale Deep Wretched waste of days and years, release the phantoms of your fears. Embrace the moment of your birth, live each second's fullest girth. Odious loss of countless hours, reject the pull of worry's powers. Endeavor to each minute strain, squeeze the essence from each grain. Putrid stench of anger's flail, release the tension of it's fail. Embody youthful joy in living, celebrate each gift life's giving. Guard against the loss of hope, pray for all the strength to cope. Stand firm in the face of death, inhale deep each eternal breath. © 2014 ajwrites57 A Long ♡ ♡ ♡
