Pleasures sought have gone unfound,
hopes and wishes, gone aground.
Fears are found with full impression,
horrors wound in straight succession.
Daylight's darkness dims the light,
waking moments seem like night.
Danger's doom has come today,
fated failures claim their way.
Life regression carries clues,
clashing rhythms stuck like glue.
Waking moments seem like sleep,
seconds ticking make one weep.
Winding stairways, like a maze,
Simple Simon states a phrase.
Simon Says, "Watch your feet!"
Stairways trip you in defeat.
Seconds tick, seem like hours,
fruitless efforts, loss of powers.
Waiting for the final act,
no one leaves this life intact.
