and love happens like lightning striking
in a moment, in a day, in a glance.
and love changes like dawn breaks,
imperceptibly from dark to light.
and love surrounds like morning mist,
rising from nowhere until it envelopes.
and love grows from pain to hunger
gnawing from the belly and the mind.
and love is desperate like addiction
overriding every other appetite.
and love creates a world like a dream
where days are lived in slow motion.
and love empowers like confident faith
emboldening to overcome obstacles.
and love lasts like the ocean
waves' ebbs and flows, forever.
