Christmas voices

Christmas voices

Christmas spirits linger, here
Quieted voices whisper, clear
Forgotten memories rise, like ghosts
Holiday gatherings without hosts
Sleigh bells tinkle, lonely sound
December's wind blows all around
Jack Frost sends cold hot ice
Frozen tears, sting one, twice
Pine trees bare, except for garland
Solitary snowfall in winter's garden
'O Tannenbaum' sung by the choir
Echoes round, the lonely hour
Haunting silence fills my ears
Christmas past collects the tears
