We gather

We gather We gather round glowing fire, Kindred spirits, friends conspire. We find a place at this hour, Hope and love and super power. We gather in this sacred place, Arm and arm, heart embrace. We find depth within this space, Strength and peace and super grace. We gather in this passing time Mind to mind, perfect rhyme, We find soul rest, spirits climb, Faith and comfort and life sublime. We gather in a hidden sphere, Elided egos, union clear. We find joy’s eternal cheer, Orbs and knots and super dear. We merge at this precious hour, Hearts encircled, melded here. We find friends at this loving time, Life and feeling and super share.  © 2013 ajwrites57 A Long ❤  ❤  ❤  Photo:  By Steve Ball CC-BY-SA-3.0, via Wikimedia Commons

The crimes

The crimes The crimes you commit, follow you to the day you die. Crimes of love. Crimes of the heart. Hearts you have broken. Hearts you have neglected, rejected, infected, deflected, dissected. Torn, ragged, jagged, depleted, shattered, scattered, scarred hearts. Hearts bleeding, receding. Lies told. Promises unkept. Vows forgotten. Tears unwept. Vowels and consonants gather.  Words like honey, now turn acrid, Bitter and sour, as they pass the lips. Hearts seared by verbs and nouns. Splintered by shards of verbal sounds. Love turned away, spurned, burned, returned. A barren heart naked and bared. Love unleft and uncared. Love lost, lonely, lonesome, alone. Love unwanted, unsought, unshown. Love shrunken, unknown. Heart frozen, iced and silenced. The crimes you commit, follow you from the day you love. © 2013 ajwrites57 A Long ❤  ❤  ❤  If you enjoyed this poem, please find more...

Kiss

Kiss Strolling along the beach one day, I spied a young man and young woman sitting in the sand. I overheard the following conversation. “I wanted to kiss you in the library,” he said. “Why didn't you?” she asked. “Well, because we were in the library,” he replied. “There’s only one rule in the library,” she said. “What is that?” he asked. “No talking,” she said. “What is the rule on the beach?" he asked. “No talking!” she said. Then...they kissed. On one of his G+ posts, + Nathan Michaels posed the following questions: I wonder if there something special about a kiss?  What feelings and emotions do people feel when they kiss?  Is there any kind of sensation that they feel when they do it?  Many thanks to +Nathan Michaels !  I wrote this in response: Kiss Lips, pressed against another’s, tingles; begins on the lips. Sensations spread, everywhere, across the body, in amazing places. ...

Two Women, Two Woes

One She sat silently studying the crackling fire. She inhaled his blanket and fondled his giant beverage mug, empty. Her eyes burrowed into the burning logs, searching for him. His face flickered in the flames. She wept. After a few moments, she sobbed and wiped her nose with a Kleenex she had buried in her fist. She hummed a song they sang together in front of this fireplace. His soft tenor voice echoed in her memory, his sun-hewn hand wrapped tight around hers. As the embers glowed low now, the warmth drained from the room.  Flickering Flames She nestled tighter into the corner of the sofa hoping to find some hidden heat to stave off the shivers that shook her now. She closed her eyes and kissed his soft strong lips which turned her to jelly each time they embraced. She wept. The grandfather clock in the hall struck twelve times. Her heart swelled and broke over and over, in throbbing waves, recalling his presence. She wrapped the blanket tight around her small, li...

She

She She smiled and sent stars my way. I floated high on clouds all day. I drifted past the Milky Way! I hope I see her everyday. She blew a kiss in my direction. I caught it quick; her sweet affection. Every mirror shows her reflection. Her two lips are my resurrection She brushed against my arm. Electric! Her touch has made me magnetic. My orbit now is she-concentric. Around her now I act eccentric. She spoke my name out loud! Now my heart feels so proud. She picked me from the passing crowd. I wander in a daze; I'm wowed. She sent a poem in a letter. Now I know I shan't forget her. I never can feel any better. I am now, you see, her love debtor. © 2013 ajwrites57 A Long ❤  ❤  ❤  If you enjoyed this poem, please find more  here.

My heart, feels

My heart, feels  My heart, feels naught tonight. No feeling felt, no hope or light. My heart's numb, no wrong or right. No pain or pleasure, no black, no white. My heart, feels no thing today, No colors seen, only grey. My heart's frozen, icy flay. No joy or gladness, painful splay. My heart, feels none, any of you, No emotions shared, not one clue. My heart's shut, tight with glue. No smiles or kisses, aching blue. My heart, feels, lost and alone. No tender touch, touch unknown. My heart's cry, silent groan. No hugs or holding, no hand's zone. © 2013 ajwrites57 A Long ❤ ❤ ❤

Santa Sat

Santa Sat  Santa sat in calm reflection, his heart was set in one direction, Christmas day is near. Santa Checks His List His opened list, he checked it twice Who was naughty, who was nice, Christmas day is near. Soft white beard, stroked in thought, Making sure no one's forgot. Christmas day is near. Santa's head chock full of names, Who gets dolls and who gets games. Christmas day is near. Santa's workshop in a flurry, Santa pushed the elves to hurry. Christmas day is near. The North Pole filled with jolly hustle, Santa laughs at frantic bustle. Christmas day is near. Santa's Workshop Mrs. Claus feeds and stuffs her man, To make him jolly as she can. Christmas day is near. Toys for Tommy, toys for Jane, No one forgotten, it is plain. Christmas day is near. Mrs. Claus loves to sing, Fa-la-la's when bells do ring. Christmas day is near. Santa’s elves outdo themselves, Stacking toys upon the shelves. ...
